Casting shot blasting is mainly used to remove the casting sand and surface foreign matter, shoveling and cutting rib, the seam and burr, and grinding and finishing the surface of casting and surface defects, etc.
Shot blasting is using high-speed rotating impeller to throw small steel balls or small iron pills into the surface of the parts, so that the oxide layer can be removed from the surface of the parts. Steel pellets hit the surface of parts at high speed, distorting the lattice of part surface and increasing the surface hardness, which is a method of cleaning part surface. Shot blasting is often used to clean the surface of the casting or to strengthen the surface of the parts.
The principle of shot blasting is to drive the impeller body rotation by electric motor (direct drive or v-belt transmission), by centrifugal force. Throwing the projectile (with different types of cast steel shot, steel wire cutting pill, stainless steel pill) to the surface of the workpiece with a diameter of about 0.2 ~ 3.0, to make the workpiece surface rough and beautiful, or change the welding tension stress of the workpiece as the compressive stress, and improve the service life of the workpiece. By improving the roughness of the workpiece surface, the adhesion of the paint film is also improved. Shot blasting is process almost used in most fields of machinery, such as repair shipbuilding, auto parts, aircraft parts, gun tank surface, bridge, steel structure, glass, steel plate profile, pipeline internal and external wall anti-corrosion and even road surface and so on.
