Die-casting (not short for pressure casting) is a metal casting process characterized by the use of a mold cavity to exert high pressure on molten metal. Molds are usually made of stronger alloys, a process similar to injection molding.
Sand mold casting
Sand mold casting is a way by making mold with sand. Sand mold casting needs to put the finished product part model or wooden model in the sand, filling with sand, then the sand is formed after the model is removed.
The mold should be made into two or more parts so as to remove the model before metal casting. In the mould making process, it is necessary to set aside the holes and vent holes for casting metal in the casting mould and to synthesize pouring system. After casting the metal liquid, it should be kept in proper time until the metal solidifies. The mold is destroyed after one time use, so new molds must be made for each casting piece.
Investment casting is also known as lost wax casting, including wax injection, dip, wax melting and casting metal liquid and post-treatment process. Lost wax casting is making the mould with wax , then coated with mud, which is called the clay mould. After the clay mold is dried, it will be baked into ceramic mold. Once roasting, the wax molds will melt away completely, leaving only the ceramic mold. There is a pouring port while making the clay mould, and then pouring the metal molten liquid into the mouth. After cooling, the work parts are made.
